Pittsburgh Con Recap

So I’m finally back home in Columbus…  Pittsburgh Con was an awesome good time but I’m exhausted!  I got to meet a bunch of you which was oh-so-much fun!  Especially all the guys from Drunk Duck!  It’s always nice to put faces to user-icons.  We also sold out of both Issues #1 and #2.  Huzzah!

(I told you all I wasn’t kidding about the I heart Nathan shirt!)

If you read no more of this blog, read this:  Comic Geek Speak interviewed me in their latest podcast.  I’m at 58 minutes, and it’s about six minutes long.  If you’ve ever wondered what I sound like… well, there you have it!

New Page-25!

(This is a pre-recorded blog since today I’ll be at the Pittsburgh Comic Con hopefully meeting some of you fine folks.)  :)

New Page Friday!  And this week, I do mean new page.  Because there is only one page left in Issue #3, number 25, and oh-so-much fun:

Bea, a little less attitude with your new friends, maybe…?  Just a suggestion…!  (Bea’s comment is in reference to this conversation incase you missed it.)

This page makes me laugh, and I hope you enjoy it.  It’s quite a fun finale.  One thing ending, though, means another beginning.  And next Friday will be the beginning of the much anticipated Issue #4.  (Much anticipated by me, at least)  Have any of you been waiting for musket fire?  bayonets?  cannon balls?  new characters?  more of Nathan sans shirt?  Well, it’s all coming up in the action-packed Issue #4!

Also I’m so excited to tell you that the cover, drawn by myself, is painted by Chris Oatley, a dear friend of mine who not only happens to be a fantastic painter, but has worked for companies such as (maybe you’ve heard of them) Disney.  He’s stellar and has been sending me sneak peeks at the cover for the past few weeks.  You won’t be disappointed!!

VOTE this week to see a page from my 2008 Sketchbook!

(And if you didn’t read Tuesday’s post, scroll back and give it a gander:  The Dreamer on WOWIO.  Get all the details in the previous post!)

The Dreamer at WOWIO!

Awww, freak out! I just got word that The Dreamer went live over at WOWIO. What is WOWIO? It’s a site where you can download books in pdf form for free! The wonderful thing about the site is that it’s free for you, but I make money each time you download. C’mon, can you think of an easier way to support the web comic that brought you shirtless Nathan Hale? I thought not. ;)

The Dreamer is published on WOWIO via the fine folks over at Dakuwaka.

Send me some love, and go download The Dreamer issues #1 and #2. They’re color corrected, and I also went back and fixed up all the word balloons & text. Plus you can see that beautiful new Issue #1 cover that Barb Jacobs colored in high-res. I think there’s even an interview with yours truly in there.

If you’re an overseas reader, I’m really sorry but WOWIO is only available for Americans right now. Their rules, not mine. I’m sorry! :(

Dreamer Merch!

So, yesterday I got my copies of Issue #1 and Issue #2 from the printer for the Pittsburgh Comic Con this weekend.  All I can say is, “Wow!”  Print is always sooo much better than screen, and the colors are amazing!  I seriously couldn’t go to bed last night until I had read them both!  And I, uh, wrote and drew them.  So if you’re a fan, I think you’ll love them!

I also picked up my 2008 sketchbooks for the Con:

If you have one of my 2007 sketchbooks, you’ll love this.  It’s entirely new material, and even if you follow me on deviantART there’s a bunch of stuff in there that has never been posted online.  A lot of roughs from The Dreamer pages, pencils for my work from DC Comics’ American Splendor Issue #2 (due out next month), The Dreamer Issue #4 cover, and the Thomas & Anna Knowlton mini-strip.  These sketchbooks are so much fun!  I’m proud to have my name on them.

Well, I hope to see some of you at the Pittsburgh Comic Con, on Friday, Saturday or Sunday!  I’ll be the girl in the “I heart Nathan Hale” tee.  ;)
