The Dreamer Teaser Trailer

Hey, so I’m back from Baltimore.  We got in around six or so last night, crashed on the couch, and ate pizza and watched Buffy until we fell asleep.  Baltimore was such a fantastic convention.  I had so much fun meeting so many of you!!  We were totally floored by how many Dreamer fans came out to represent!

My digital camera is broken, so as soon as I can get pictures off Beth’s camera, I’ll do an official post-con report.  In the meantime, we launched this at the convention:

A promotional Dreamer trailer!

Beth Brockhaus just so happens to have studied video editing in college.  And she did a bang up job on this.  Enjoy and thanks, Beth!!

New Page #9!

Right now I’m probably somewhere between here and Baltimore.  Beth Brockhaus of Dream Team fame is making the trip with me.  (You know… the crazy cake maker!)  And my writer friend Liz Hornbeck is flying straight into the city.  You all haven’t met her yet, but you will soon.  She’s working on a short story with me about Frederick Knowlton that is just too much fun.  I wrote the frame work and dialogue and she flushed out everything in between with her fantastic creativity.  Coming soon…  ;)

But about today… New Page 9!  Poor Alan has a case of the sniffles!

Only one page this week, but man it’s a good one.  I was either going to do a 1 page or a 3 page update this week and, well, the power outage here in Columbus sort of made that decision for me…  I can’t split pages 10 and 11 so look forward to them next week.  All I’ll say it is some of my favorite work in The Dreamer thus far…!

So you don’t feel cheated, I thought I’d share two fabulous fan arts I got this week.  The first is from Michael Motter who is a regular colorist here at The Dreamer.  It was only a matter of time before he took a stab at the characters for himself and the result is so much fun:

The second one is by Joanne Renaud.  She has a fabulous knack for drawing historic clothing, and her latest subjects were Bea and Alan at a ball.  The result is gorgeous:

If I don’t see you at Baltimore, I’ll see you next Friday!

Until then, VOTE to download a wallpaper image featuring Chris Oatley’s beautiful Issue #4 cover!

For the Freddy Fans…

…So the people’s voice has been heard.  Frederick Knowlton now has his own character bio.  Enjoy!

I also updated Alan’s, because Joseph Warren is no longer a secret.  And I added a line about Nathan’s scar in his.  Believe it or not, questions about Nate’s scar are second only to “When and where can we buy the Dreamer?”  So I thought I’d save you all the trouble of writing me.  It’s a gunpowder burn.  Yes, he really had it.  No, I didn’t make it up.  :)

Huzzah to the Emmys

Sometimes I give Hollywood awards ceremonies a hard time, mostly because I’m tired of horribly depressing films winning all the time.  (The Queen’s win a few years ago was a breath of fresh air!)  But I think the Emmys got it right this time.  Hip, Hip, Huzzah! to all the wins that went to HBO’s John Adams series!!  Outstanding Miniseries, Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, and Actor/Actress wins to Paul Giamatti, Laura Linney, and Tom Wilkinson.

Man, I couldn’t agree more.

I’ve heard rumor of HBO doing David McCullough’s 1776 next.  There’s a listing at the IMDB that says 2009, though that’s all the info they list.  I sure hope it’s true!!
