Happy New Years!

Well, it’s New Year’s! I hope you all are having good holidays!

Next Wednesday, January 6th, I’ll be a guest on Moonhawk Studio Presents, an hour long podcast and I hope you’ll come out to join me! 10 PM EST. I always love doing those things mostly because I love being able to talk to all of you in real time. (Plushy Spontoon!)

The Comic Creator’s Alliance deadline is upon us. Nearly everyone has turned in their submission, too! After the new year, I’ll be collecting all of the submissions onto one wallpaper, and that’s going to be a creative challenge! But a fun one. Remember, the donation drive goes live on January 11th, National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. YOU have a chance to do a lot of good. So get ready to donate when the drive goes live!

Lastly, remember to VOTE this week! I spent this week working on a pinup for Mice Templar Issue #7. Bryan Glass asked me not to post the final piece, but I put up the pencil drawing as the voting incentive. It was a lot of fun to do something not in the typical Dreamer style!

Oh, and enjoy the free Fan Flow posts–after this weekend, they’ll all be locked again!

So 2009 was a really hard year for me personally, and I thank you all for not only bearing with us through all of the tragedy we had in our personal lives, but for constantly encouraging us and supporting us through it! Aside from the personal stuff, 2009 was a very big year for The Dreamer! Read on for the highlights! Continue Reading »

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, everyone! I have a few presents for you!

First, for the next week, I unlocked 12 of the posts in the Dreamer Fan Flow for you all to enjoy for free! (One for each of the 12 days of Christmas…!)

Just click on “Free” instead of “All” and then enjoy!

Secondly, if you VOTE for us on TWC, I posted a Bea/Alan Mistletoe wallpaper that we had up for sale last year at this time. Vote this week and you can download it for free!

Mike and I appreciate all of you, and all of the support and encouragement you give us! However you spend your Holidays, I wish you the best! See you next year.

CCA Update!

Hey, everyone! I’m not quite where I wanted to be with The Dreamer (as per starting issue #9). A lot of that has come from the additional responsibilities I’ve had organizing the Comic Creators’ Alliance–we’re getting ever closer to the deadline for artists submissions, and every day new folks email me asking to participate. It’s wonderful, really! But it’s been eating into my work day, also. As a result, the start date for Issue #9 might come after the CCA goes live on January 11th. It’s looking that way right now.

I did want to bring the CCA up again to all of you because between now and January 11th sits Christmas! Which is wonderful but horribly consuming… to our attentions and our wallets. So I wanted to start talking about it now, so that you can set aside some money before Christmas, so you have something to give after the New Year. I’m so excited to see so many creators from the comic book community step up to offer their creativity for the cause of raising awareness and money to fight slavery in our world today!

I actually created an exclusive Dreamer wallpaper just for you guys! We’ll be using it along side the wallpaper that everyone is working on to raise money. The banner on the CCA Website is a sneak peek. :)

If you really need your Dreamer fix, sign up for the Fan Flow! It’s only $0.99 and I’ve been posting things on there for Issue #9 as I work on them. The wait won’t be so long with teasers!

And lastly, John Wilson of Comic Related interviewed me for his column “19 Questions” and it was a lot of fun. Check it out!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Julie Wright Interview!

Just incase you missed the note at the end of the last blog, The Dreamer won’t be updating until after the new year. Good news: I finished the Issue #9 script! That was a big component on the delay… You can’t really illustrate something that doesn’t exist, lol. The other reasons for the delay are that things with the Comic Creators’ Alliance are keeping me busy, and I need a few weeks to get things rolling on schedule with our new colorist Julie Wright. True to my word, I got her to answer a few questions for you! So sit back, and enjoy getting to know the latest member of the Dreamer Team–Julie Wright!
