New Pages 1 & 2!

New Pages 1 & 2! They bring with them two new faces-one new face on screen and one off. Off-screen, the lovely Julie Wright debuts her work this week as the new, official Dreamer colorist, and don’t the pages look great?! I squealed when I downloaded Page 2 from her.

The other new face this week is none other than…

uncleherc

Hercules Mulligan! At long last. Bea has been talking about him since Issue #1, and goes into more detail in Issue #3, but he’s remained off-camera until now. As a new member of the cast, I hope you enjoy him! My DeviantART followers and members of the fan flow got to meet him while The Dreamer was on hiatus. Check out his original character design here.

Mike added a button with the RSS Feed right here on the front page of the site. Some of you were having problems finding it, so just click on the icon and subscribe and you’ll never miss an update again.

In other news, we won the SPACE prize! I’m really excited about it. Read about it in the last entry.

Also posted there was the news that the Comic Creator’s Alliance came to a close and we were able to raise $10,000! Thanks to all of you who participated and donated!!

VOTE for The Dreamer over at Top Web Comics this week to preview next week’s update! If you’re new, just click on the “VOTE TWC” button in the side bar that has Bea’s face on it. It’s a comics ranking system, and if you vote for me, you get free stuff and I get free advertising. It’s totally win/win. My numbers have plunged since I haven’t updated in awhile. But The Dreamer is back on track, so VOTE for us this week!! Remember, you can vote every single day. See you next Friday!

I am so glad you are back! I wonder if the costume looks like Alan’s old fashioned garb? I can’t wait and the pages looked great, I think Julie did a great job!

Oh I have missed this comic and your art. Also, this is a great start for your new colorist!

The new pages are gorgeous! I wonder if it’s me but I can sort of tell that the colour style is sliiiiightly different from the usual issues. They’re much softer. But so beautiful, omg! Tell Julie she did a great awesome job!

I’m quite in love with Uncle Herc’s character already.

Oh! And I love how Bea looks in the last panel of page 2. So adorable! <3

Awww, I love Uncle Hercules already. =)

Ben’s facial expression in the last panel makes me wonder… he seems less than impressed by the costume. Oi.

    Anyway: beautiful update! <3

Anybody with a first name of Hercules is already a winner in my book. :D

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH I have to wait a whole week to see the costume!?!?!?!?? Lora, you are cruel, cruel, cruel!!! ^_^ I’m betting it’s a period costume though – which would probably (@Rose) explain Ben’s face, which I definitely noticed too!

Hmmm, looked like it was still in the garment bag to me. I was just figuring she was excited at the prospect of it, and Ben was sorta “meh”. :)

I really love the coloring! It’s slightly different, but in a very good way.

The new coloring looks great! It’s a little softer or something.

Also, I’m really enjoying all the detail of the backgrounds in both of these pages!

I’m going to make sure Julie reads the comments so she can personally feel all the love. :)

As for Ben’s apparent confusion/distain… he doesn’t look entirely unlike he did at the art museum, am I right? I think his draw to acting is probably more to be Will Smith in Independence Day, and less to dress up as Othello. Just taking a guess. ;)

The costume will be revealed next week! Promise!

@Deb- I think Bea looks adorable in this entire sequence. I had a lot of fun drawing her… happy. We don’t see a happy Bea often, but I guess a favorite Uncle’s love is enough to draw it out of her, at least for now.

@Tina- thanks re: backgrounds! Poor Julie had to put up with a couple rounds of back and forth on the costume shop colors, but I’m happy with how Issue #9 is looking so far!

Hey, hey! New pages! Julie did an awesome job. She’s got a great feel for how the Dreamer needs to be colored. The TWC preview looks dynamite.

Wow, poor Ben. First, he’s got to meet her ‘rents, now her favorite, giant uncle. Uncle Herc is cool, though for some reason I was expecting Kevan Sorbo. XD

Eep, I originally missed that bit you posted on DA about Uncle Herc. I’ll have to keep a better look out for such Dreamerness tidbits on the DA site and Fan Flow.

Ben doesn’t look like he’s having fun, I hope they find something they both like to do…

    I’m already loving Uncle Hercules.

As an aside, I also have an uncle Hercules IRL, but technically he’s Uncle Hercules Junior… and he coaches soccer.

I really like the coloring … but I’m not a big fan of the changes to the actual drawing. Both Ben and Bea look a lot different, and I loved the old them.

The new pages are made of win!! Both your lines and Julie’s colors look fantastic! I agree with other comments that the colors are slightly different than before, but that’s not a bad thing ’cause they look great and it still has that Dreamer feel. *thumbs up* :D

Yay, Uncle Herc!! He’s going to be an awesome character XD

Also, the $10,000 = awesomeness. ‘Nuff said. lol
