New Page 13!

New Page #13!

Just a reminder that next weekend, January 28-30th, I’ll be set up in Artist Alley at Ohayocon in Columbus, Ohio! I’ll be selling all sorts of fun Dreamer merchandise–comics, prints, magnets, charms, stickers and buttons! Stop by and say hello if you’re there.

Time is running out to donate to the Comic Creator’s Alliance: Fighting Together to End Human Trafficking! We’re still way short of last year’s total–not even to $4,000 yet. The drive is only live until Tuesday, so please don’t hesitate anymore–go donate! A little bit goes a long way, please consider giving even $5. And remember, everyone who donates at least $10 and forwards me their receipt gets the adorable Bea, Liz & Yvette BFFs wallpaper I drew!

VOTE this week to preview next week’s update! See you then.

Ah, Bea did not need that right now! Poor Liz probably doesn’t know what to think. And I just got paid this week so I’ll be donating to the Comic Creator’s Alliance!

  2. Angie says:

    Pirates joke FTW!!!!

Liz looks really pretty here :)

  3. Darwin says:

Poor Bea, I mean really she’s trying to reach out, and I’m sure it took a lot for her to even work up the nerve to say that aloud!!

  4. Emily says:

OOOOH, methinks if she does go to therapy or something, maybe she’ll meet other people with same problem as she does?

  5. I’m a little upset that Liz thinks Bea is crazy. I mean I can understand why, but, ugh. I know Bea’s a drama queen, but can’t she tell this drama is different?

  6. Lora says:

    @Cody: A long-distance high-five for donating!! <3

And yes, poor Bea indeed. The last thing she needs now is more drama with her friends...

@Angie: That page was so long ago, I'm glad you remember what they're referencing! http://thedreamercomic.com/comic.php?id=35

@Darwin: Bea has to know it sounds silly out loud! But you’re right, at least she’s trying.

@Emily: Good call! But good luck getting Bea there…!

@Ginny: I think she can tell this drama is a little different… which is why she’s nervous for Bea.

You know how some people are called ‘beautiful’ when they’re angry? I think Bea’s that kinda girl. She looks amazing in the last panel. As for Liz, I think it’s great she’s a skeptic about it plainly because it’d be too hunky dory for Bea if everyone started believing her and it’d make it that much easier to finish things with Ben. With Liz on one side being the voice of reason and Yvette being the one who indulges Bea, it just seems more… real? It also gives Bea another thing to worry about: is her friendship with Liz worth jeopardizing over this dream? All that, I think it’s amazing how you’re putting all of this together from Liz’s practicality in issue 1 to how it is now. Bravo!

  8. Rose says:

See you at OHAYOCON!!! <3 I'll be dressed as the giant cat handpuppet. lol

  9. Faith (The Other Faith) says:

Love the way you did the first panel!

  10. Half Moon says:

Wowwwwwwww…..Dead girl walking. If I were Bea I’d be screaming at Liz by now.

  11. Alyssa says:

I love how Liz went from joking to serious in the space of one panel. I could totally see that happening if I told certain of my friends that I’d been time traveling in my sleep.

(Other friends would of course be begging to join in.)

  12. Laura says:

Bea’s face in the last panel = priceless. Lora, you kick ass at capturing expressions perfectly.

  13. Lora says:

@Deb: that means a lot coming from a long time reader like you! Yes, I have had a master plan for The Dreamer since Issue #1–some of which is playing out now, some of which we haven’t even gotten to yet. Liz is definitely the yin to Bea’s yang. I’ve so often been this friend in my relationships… the voice of reason and caution. It’s not always fun being Liz, but sometimes the Bea’s in our lives really need it!!

@Rose: I… can’t wait? lol. See you there!

@Faith: Thanks! I was inspired by Doug Tennapel. You can read all about that panel on the Fan Flow: http://o.assetbar.com/store/LoraInnes

@Half Moon: It might be coming. ;)

@Alyssa: That is quite a pill she’s asking Liz to swallow, with not much to back it up.

@Laura: Thanks! I think in that panel Bea almost does look a little crazy!

  14. Hiraku536 says:

I think Liz does believe in what Bea is talking about.
And, truth be told, I feel that this whole situation is literally gonna drive Bea insane. At this point, even I’m confused if she’s a 21st century teenager dreaming about 18th century, or an 18th century girl who just happened to be dreaming about 21st century. My only evidence for the truth being the former is that she had lived a normal modern life before ever having these dreams.

Or maybe her 18th century self just had some kind of major, deep coma that walked her through 18 years of 21st century life. I mean, there weren’t really any scenes of flashbacks of Bea in 21st century (except the brief mentioning of her crush on Ben Cato when she was 8th grade, but that’s just through a dialogue, not actual panels), while there WAS flashback scene of Bea as a young 18th century girl (re: that Thanksgiving comic, and her showing up at the apple farm in orange dress).

I think I’m driving myself insane here with this <_<|||

  15. Lora says:

@Hiraku: You’re absolutely right about the flashbacks… there is evidence of Bea having some sort of life in the past beyond what we’ve seen in her “dreams.” Alan seems to remember things, and every now and again so does she.

    You’re paying attention, I love it! :)
