New Page 24! What’s this? The Dreamer on WEDNESDAY? Get used to it! The Dreamer is going to be two pages a week for awhile! So check back here to get your Revolutionary fix on Wednesdays AND Fridays.

Issue #11 ends on Friday and next Wednesday, the 12 page mini-comic that Alan Evans and I are working on will start! It tells the story of how Nathan and Alan met and became friends. It takes place in October of 1775.
Don’t forget to check out my latest venture, the Paper Wings Podcast! We’ve already recorded and posted 3 episodes. So far we’ve discussed assembling your portfolio and writing a pitch for an animation studio. In Ep. 003 we also shared fun stories from my amazing trip to the California Coast!
Thanks for all the volunteers who offered to proofread for the Graphic Novel! If you want to help, I wasn’t able to respond to every person individually. But I could use as many eyes on this as possible. Full details here. The response has been overwhelming. So thanks~!!
Speaking of the Graphic Novel, VOTE this week to view my sketch for the Vol. 2 cover!

God, the gravity of the situation, even without us knowing what we know now, just sits so heavily on me as a reader. It’s a heavy burden with a likely heavier price and Nathan knows it.
Waaah ;__;
NOOOOOOOOOO NATHAN WHY ARE YOU SO SELFLESS AND WONDERFUL?????????
Oh my gosh, I’ve had a lousy day so the fact that there was a new page totally made me happy until I read it . . . =D I love him so much! He is so amazing!
It begins D:
Those last two panels are gorgeous. Really emotive.
This is too heartbreaking! NO-OOOOO! D’:
Okay, I’m not usually a Nathan girl, but this page…gosh.
And I agree with Kal–those last two panels are awesome.
If I had time, I fill up the rest of the comment box with hearts and exclamation points.
Looking forward to a double-dose of Dreamer :)
and that cover sketch is beautiful! Gorgeous. Perfect. Yummy? Yes, that too.
Can we preorder? :)
Must not…must not….oh hell *Swoons*
Couldn’t help myself. Nathan is the shiz.
I finished the working draft of my collage story on him tonight. I’m very excited. Thanks for everyone who had input-and if you still “want in” I will probably make an unabridged version (i.e. not limited to 1200 words) as well, for kicks.
Oh, and have I mentioned I LOVE the outfit Nathan has on. I’m hoping he keeps it? I mean, poor dear won’t get to have his uniform now…:/ *sighs with resignation*
Mm. I love his hair in the last two panels.
Just thought I should say something ’bout that.
I second what everyone said about Nathan looking lovely in the last two panels. But he also looks lovely further up the page–those piercing blue eyes! I love that we can’t see Nathan’s face, but just based on his body language, we can all picture what it looks like in our heads (at least I can…)
You’ve officially made me need to comment. This is just so tragic and suspenseful and gorgeous that I had to say something. When I started reading The Dreamer, I knew Nathan’s story (not well, but I knew the main details and the quote) actually tried to not get too attached to him. To say that I failed would be a huge understatement; if I had to name one favorite character, it would be him.
@Caera — His outfit looks rather teacher-y, doesn’t it?
Well, we are now officially doomed.
ohh I forgot about the Wedenesdays updates until my facebook newsfeed reminded me! So, excited! I can’t wait for Friday :) I’m also really excited for the mini-comic it sounds like it’s going to be interesting.
Oh, Lora, beautiful artwork! However, let the tears commence! Can’t wait to read more. So glad there will be this short comic coming along! I’m so excited to read it!
@Alicia-Indeed, he’s always Gorgeous! :D
Geez guys, volunteer or voluntold…
Looks like Nathan’s talking himself into stepping up to the plate…
Beautiful artwork as usual!
Is it just me or does Nathan look like he could pass as a Shadowhunter in this page? Oh, I love him. Why does he have to get killed!?!? Lora, I really hope you bring him back in 21st century time.
Btw, Love the quote! And I might be geting the short stories this week!!!!
I’M NOT GOING TO CRY
I’M NOT GOING TO CRY
I’M NOT GOING TO CRY
There is a reason that Nathan Hale is one of my favorite historical people.
@Half Moon–I am secretly hoping that Lora will bring Nathan into the 21st century too, so we can still have him around. For now, I am consoling myself with the fact that my other favorite historical figure (Alexander Hamilton) is not doomed to die…
Awww, Nathan is so gorgeous in those last two panels! <3
*grabs Kleenex box and blows nose* Sniff, sniff. Nathan’s heroic look in this one, and the words he is saying are going to break my heart. Oh Nathan, Nathan, Nathan. Ah well, I shall accept the inevitable, but still be heartbroken. What an emotional update! The colors in this one seem to intensify the emotion.
@Alicia: True, Alex doesn’t die ’til after the war. I’m hoping La Feyette shows up in Act 2!
@Half Moon. Gasp! If he does, I think I will fall off my chair on to the floor! Too many of my favorite heroes in one comic? I think my brain cannot handle this! So, you are a Lafayette fan too half moon?
Nathan! Nooo!
Ack, I can’t watch! I can’t… I have to keep reading! :)
@nessili: Not yet. It comes out in November, and believe me, when pre-order time comes, I’ll let you know!!
@Caera: yup, Nathan will be keeping his new “schoolmasters” outfit. :)
@Etoile: Glad that Nathan was able to weasel his way into your heart!
@Emily: LOL.
Thanks for all the compliments on the art on this page! <3
@ Amber: LOL yeah…*blushes* My three best imagineary friends when I was a kid were Nathan, La Feyette, and Deborah Samson. Though not normally in that order
YUMMY!!!
@Lora — is that an actual historical quote from Nathan? It has a great ring of authenticity! :)
@ Half Moon. Lol. I have a biography on Lafayette in my room, which I have read countless times! Like, five times! I think I will read it again this week. Though they were never my imaginary friends when I was little (I was not interested in history then) I consider the people whom you have mentioned to be my brothers and sisters. How I wish I could have met them. *sigh*
@Amber: Hear hear! :) Want to highjack the TARDIS with me??? lol
@Half Moon what is TARDIS?
Where is my time machine? Did I leave in it my other pants pocket again? ‘Cause I think I know what I would do with it now. Very much a swoon-worthy page!
@Amber: Doctor Who joke. It’s a time machine, if we stole it we could go back and meet La Feyette, and Deborah….and save Nathan… :)
Oh the things I’d do with a TARDIS…
Oh yeah!!!!!!!!! : ) @ Caera and Halfmoon.: We would have tons of fun with a TARDIS!!!!! Imagine the mischief we could get ourselves into, and imagine the people we would meet!
The Doctor, Nathan, our great great grandchildren…the Beatles? XD
Oh gods…..he said the words…..its time now, isn’t it?
An interesting paradox — on the one hand, I’ll only be upset when it happens, but i dont think ill actually cry until i reread this whole sequence in the archives.
Awesome book 2 cover, btw. Love it.
I think you hit all new wonders with your art work on this!! Alan’s face really shows how horrible he feels and Nathan’s posture is amazing. And his quote. I love that quote. Even though I’m scared of what’s coming (because we all know it’s coming) this gets me so excited for more!!
And woot! Can’t wait to see how Alan and Nathan meet!!
@ Amber and Caera: As long as we save Nathan first…You know, we could take turns helping Freddy harass Knowlton!!!
I’ve heard you can make money off of advertisers. Is it really a significant enough amount to make it worth it? Or does the real benefit in blogging come from the exposure you get? I’m a bellydancer and I dance at private parties and events. How could I use a blog to get more business? I’ve heard about people who have products to sell using blogs, but I don’t have a “product”, just me!.
