  1. Caera says:

Oh Bea, you’re in for it now. No link to the future, how are you going to check your facts?

Hope the hiatus isn’t too long because I really want to see how she gets out of this. IF she does. lol

  2. I already enter mine in already.

  3. Angelica says:

Huh. I wonder if she’s in a coma in the future? I mean, we saw her coding in the hospital, it’s not a far leap. That would make things super complicated. I mean, all she’s wanted is to jump back into the past and live there, now she has that chance. I have the feeling that once she gets a dose of what 100% revolutionary America is like she’s going to begin yearning for her parents and Ben and her Yvette and the rest. Then again… the future could always be the dream and the past is the reality… GAH so many options! I really hope that the hiatus isn’t too long either because I just can’t wait! Oh Lorna, you are a master storyteller! ^_^

  4. Brent says:

Well……maybe she’ll be less tired now?

Anxiously awaiting my copy of the book in the mail! I’d pick it up, buy you know……doctors.

  5. Melissa says:

Bah bah bah! XD well, if that’s as bad as the nightmares get, Bea… I wouldn’t worry too much…

Oh, I’m going to have to try this fan art! Sounds like fun!

  6. Theresa says:

I think at this point it is safe to say hiatus has a mascot here at the Dreamer. And his name is Cliff Hanger.

I am wondering how Bea is going to do with a prolonged time away from modern technology. If you think about it she has yet to go 24 hours without access to Google.

Also did anyone else think of this song after reading the comic? Just me? 90′s Alan playlist has reached the early 2000s.

  7. Rose says:

Very cool. Um, Lora’s back? Listen to us: Get well soon!! This is a hard time to just stop!

So…where exactly are we in the overall story? Somehow I thought we had just finished act 2 (of 3), but now I’m not sure…maybe we just started act 2? In any case, I’m dying to know what happens next! I agree that Bea is probably in a coma in modern times. And going to the prom in a tractor was just a dream. But what about Yvette and Howe?? Did that really happen?

*ten thousand theories erupt in Dreamer fandom*

  8. David says:

Looks like Bea’s in a bit of a pickle here, but it could be worse. For example, she could be stuck in the Dark Ages Europe, or Stalin’s USSR, or in Massachusetts during the time of the witch-hunts. Her occasional “odd” behavior could have landed her in hot water in the last one.

It’s redundant now, but I had actually considered the possibility that Howe’s “mystery girl” would have turned out to be ANOTHER Bea, which would have raised a lot of questions and likely put Alan in an awkward predicament. I had even prepared a pun for that eventuality.

Confused Alan: “Two Bea’s or not two Bea’s? That is the question.”

  9. Amber says:

I think this is a flashback to when she first started the dreams.
I believe finally, we are seeing that her 21st century life was but a dream all along, influenced by stress. Then, when she was kidnapped by Howe, she forgot about her 18th century life as reality and began to believe that she was a 21st century girl in a 21st century world and began to think that her 18th century life was a dream. Kind of did a major switcheroo.
Some people will do this to cope with the grief. They will lose grip on reality and instead lose themselves in the past.
I think Bea is one of those.

I cannot wait to see where this leads.

    • Jen says:

I’m not so sure. She’s clearly at her uncles in Manhattan. I would assume it’s the morning after she and Alan arrive.

      • Amber says:

I thought she looked younger. I could be wrong.

        • David says:

No, Bea DOES look younger here, just like she did in the “tractor dream”. If your theory is correct could this mean she’d been dreaming of a possible FUTURE version of herself living in another time? As for her being at her uncle’s place, this could be happening a year or two PRIOR to the events of 1776 because she looks closer to 15 than 17 here.

          • Jen says:

I’d agree, except for the cute little hat on the table that was on her head at the end of the previous chapter.

          • David says:

Oh, right, the hat, which hardly qualifies as a REAL hat in my opinion. As for Bea’s current appearance, Lora could just be doing the reverse of what she did with Freddy and is deliberately making Bea look YOUNGER for some reason. Maybe it’s to emphasize her innocence, or something like that.

But what if Bea really IS younger now and it turns out that her 18th century adventures were ALSO a dream, meaning she’d have dreamed of TWO possible futures for herself, and that her hat is taking on the same symbolism as Alan’s tricorn? Sounds crazy, I know. :)

          • Amber says:

Ok…. I am officially even more confused now.
My head is going in circles with this!

          • David says:

So many possibilities! Possibilities WITHIN possibilities! We won’t know for sure until the story resumes, and maybe not even THEN!

Lora DOES so enjoy toying with us, doesn’t she?

  10. Julie says:

Well, the “jolting awake” guessers have it! :) Nice to see that Bea’s outline is a not-so-ominous white.

Thanks for the cliffhanger, Lora. :P Hope you feel better very soon!!!

  11. trevor says:

Being taken to prom on a tractor would make anyone pass out and reappear in the revolutionary war. Her situation is totally something I can relate to. Been there. :P

  12. ShariIsLikeWHOA says:

Speaking of time warps, everyone has seen this right?

it’s a car commercial for presidents day, it cracks me up every time XD I about died when it first came on lol

  13. Jen says:

“I dreamed a dream in time to come…..”

Real dreams do not bode well for Bea’s Master Plan.

  14. Henrike says:

So stupid, but I can`t stop thinking “I really hope she didn`t die in the 21st century!” But a coma is more probable….hopefully….

No more fact checking now Bea, I`m sure she`ll regret not paying attention in history class.

  15. Lyndsey says:

That’s what you get for going into a coma Bea!!! My guess is that whenever she dreams now that all of her 18th century friends are going to be in modern times. Also, all of her modern friends are going to be in the 18th century. Lastly, she won’t be able to find Alan in the 18th century. Just guessing!! Way to end it Lora!! Can’t wait for you to post the next page!!! I will be on the lookout!!! Get better soon Lora!!!

  16. Lea says:

Guess this means we’ll be in the 18th century for a while? (Not complaining!)

See you at Anime Boston!! :)

  17. ShariIsLikeWHOA says:

Is it CRYday already??? XD T.T

  18. Caitlin says:

I always love seeing your updates and your work but your recovery is much more important! I hope everything goes smoothly from here on in and I can’t wait to see the next update!!
