New Page #9!

~I hope you all enjoy a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!~
This week’s voting incentive is the uncut version of this scene we just wrapped up. This issue was already double sized, so there were a lot of (my favorite) scenes that got cut, and many others like this one that had the fat trimmed off. The version you read in the comic was definitely the right version. But if you like that sort of thing, read the original “Director’s Cut” behind the VOTE!
You all know that the annual Comic Creators for Freedom is a cause near and dear to my heart. Read an editorial I wrote for Comic Book Resources about why the 2012 CCF is important here!
Deadline for FanArtPollooza 2011 is end of Monday January 2nd.
Just a little over a week to go! Use your holiday breaks wisely! No one has made Bea & Alan sugar cookies yet… or knitted Alexander Hamilton stockings… or made Freddy Knowlton ornaments. So many untapped possibilities!

Oh my…..first comment? Wow, and all I had to do was go to Washington!
I love how Alan already has a big ol’ plan for the farm, and he’s not even fourteen. Well done, boy! That and Joseph calling him a dreamer and saying that he’s going to grow into his father’s hat make this comic just perfect. :)
V.I. – At last! We know what the scripts look like! MUAH-HAHAHAAAAA!!!!!
You were first because I was at the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert. lol
Well I hope it was worth it, then. X-)
It was once we moved to the back row. We were up in the nosebleeds because it was kind of a spontaneous decision to go, and the idiots in our row kept getting up and making us move and blocking the stage. So we moved to some empty seats under the roof and watched the rest of it in peace. lol
Sigh. I wanna go to TSO. We play Wizards in Winter on the handbells…so much fun.
That makes me think of the handbell episode of New Girl where they try to master Eye of the Tiger. XD
And that makes me think of Christopher Walken….”I have a fever — and the prescription…is more hand-bell”
I think it’s cow bell, unless you’re re-imagining it lol. Walken is wicked awesome.
Now I know what the scripts look like and Alan all ready to buy the apple farm
2nd comment now this will be 3rd
T.T sooooo SWEETTTTT!!!!!!!!! Joseph, I want to dump a bucket of water over your flour caked hair and give you such a big HUG so much right now it’s not even funny!
Aww man, poor guy. He probably hasn’t showered in weeks to achieve that look.
Wouldn’t it have been easier just to have worn a powdered wig?
That’s exactly what they used in wigs, too. Sorry!
Really? Well, it just seems like a wig would be quicker to “apply” and remove. Whatever! lol
From what I understand wigs were more popular in Europe than Democratic America, where a lot of founders just powdered their own hair instead of shaving it, and then wearing a wig.
But you styled them the same.
bleh! I’ll add soap to that bucket then…
Yeah, really! I’m still having trouble with the image of Joseph and others putting that stuff on their heads! It’s funny how 18th century people as young as their twenties would do all that just to make their hair look like it belonged to someone decades older. Pretty much the opposite of what goes on today. I suppose they did it to look more “distinguished” or something like that?
Awe Joseph you are such a good man and u being my age to boot
That’s right – he’s young enough to be my son in this part. Darn! But that technically makes me Mary Warren. Yay!
Naw, I doubt it. Mary Warren married pretty late.
Doing the math, she’s only a year older than my sister. And as far as marrying late, we’ve both got her beat already! (Mary probably knew on some level what she was getting into, and decided to save up her energy.)
Ha ha! I have my opinions on her, written into an upcoming Dreamer short story. After you read it you’ll have to see if you agree.
So we’ve got a pair of dreamers, ay?
“A Match Made in Heaven” as Nathan Hale would say! http://www.thedreamercomic.com/comic.php?id=84
Aha! You got “Dreamer” in there. Go Alan! Keep on dreamin!
I love how blunt he is about Witherspoon. Lol
And the hattt!!!!! Awwwwwww!!!!!!!!!! XD
And I like getting to read your script. It’s like watching behind-the-scenes footage on a movie DVD.
Title bomb!
Yes! The hat thing sent warm fuzzies all through me. Joseph<3
Alan needs to quit being adorable because I'm in danger of imploding. And seriously, xD, the blunt comments about Witherspoon. In my mind, all I could think was: "ALAN!" But then Joseph said it for me. It was amazing.
and the VI: The end. *eyes wide and teary, sniffles* Joseph, you're so nice!!
@Lora: I’ve just read your CCF editorial. The sheer number of people victimized by the human traffickers is sickening! Coming up with a truly appropriate description for those scum-bags is very difficult, because calling a human trafficker a “pile of excrement” would be a promotion!
It is really horrible. It’s hard to talk about. It’s hard to think about. But I’m glad for this group of comic creators who gets together once a year to do something about it.
Check out the links page on the CCF website. There are videos there for the organizations we’re raising money for that’ll give you more info, as well as links to a lot of other good organizations doing something there.
I’ll do that. Oh, and as you may have already guessed, “excrement” was the censored version of a more “colorful” term that I had in in mind. That’s how low those human traffickers are in my opinion!
Man, I wish Roxbury still looked like that! Fireflies are good for one’s soul.
Merry Christmas, all!
Awww how cute <3 :) I like the part about his fathers hat:)
The voting incentive was great! I liked reading the extended version, but the comic version is good too, the rest was just fluff, but it was still great to read :) Merry Christmas! and I can’t wait for the next Dreamer update!
Hope you and mike have a happy holiday, Lora. Looking forward to more dreamer in 2012.
Thanks Trevor! I hope you have a great holiday too!
This is seriously the cutest page I have ever encountered in the world of comics. I love this so much I just want to keep looking at it. Thanks for the awesome Christmas present. And thanks for all your hard work to let us enjoy this awesome comic! Hope your holidays are simple splendid.
doh. “simply”, I mean. That’s what I get for writing this at nearly 4 in the morning. Though for this hour, only one error is actually pretty good.
Thank you and you’re welcome! I do it because I love it, but I KEEP doing it (even when it’s hard) because you guys love it.
Merry Christmas to you too!
Howdy! :) Lora, I posted my FanArt entry to your DA a little while back. I didn’t hear anything from you, so I’m just taking the liberty of posting it here. ;D
