New Pages– Issue #5 Cover!

Issue #5 begins.

(And someone is baaaaack!)

The Fan Art Pollooza Fan Art Contest ends on Monday!  August 18th!  (Read about the contest here.)  Get me your entries by the end of the day on Monday!  My mind isn’t made up yet on the winner, so there’s still time for you to blow me away with your entry!

(Oh, and some of you had problems listening to the Dreamer’s Lullaby song.  You can try just pasting this URL into your browser, I don’t know if that will help:  http://thedreamercomic.com/blog_images/Steve_Sunu.mp3)

And awesome news!  The Dreamer received six nominations over at the Drunk Duck Awards!  (In case you don’t know, we actually started The Dreamer over at Drunk Duck and still have a readership over there.)  We were nominated in the following categories:  BEST ADVENTURE COMIC, BEST BACKGROUNDS, BEST DIGITAL ART, BEST ROMANTIC STORY, BEST TENSE SCENES and BEST TRADITIONAL ART!

Wish us luck!

VOTE this week to see a sneak peek at next week’s page #1!

GOOD LUCK ON GETTING SOME AWARDS! You totally deserve them ALL.

And man… I now want to take a photo like the cover page. BUT DAMN YOU FOR LEAVING US IN SUSPENSE LONGER. LMAO

Looks like I’ll just have to come back at midnight pronto next week >.>

  2. Alyssa says:

    Creepily awesome cover! :D

    Congrats on the nominations!!!!

  3. Faticia says:

    General Howe?

That is an impressively awesome pistol!

  4. Albone says:

I was wondering when we’d get a single antagonist, looks like the cover for Issue #5 puts that to rest with his return. Simple and foreboding. I love the flag used for the title page, and for no good reason.

Good luck in the awards! I said this already, but you’re cleaning up like Michael Phelps.

  5. Beatrice says:

Yes! Issue 5 finally begins! //fist punches the air// I’m SO psyched for what Bea will see in the battle to come! :P

Seeing as I’ve never been able to draw guns, that is a HOT pistol right there, Lora. Kudos.

And congrats on the Drunk Duck nominations! We are all in agreement that you deserve them! <3

  6. Laura says:

I got shivers! Nice cover :)

  7. Ellen says:

General Howe is back! Oh noes!
But wow, I’m so excited… the story is totally picking up @_@

  8. Caera says:

General Howe! Noo! And Run, Nathan Run! (hehe I like the sneak peek).

So I’m working on a drawing, hopefully I’ll finish before Monday, but if not I’ll just send it to you as a funny and not an entry. I can enter more than once right?

  9. Lora says:

Enter as many times as you like!

And yes, I love that drawing of Nathan, too! It totally makes me laugh. XD

  10. Khashin says:

    Hey,
Just wanted to say I really like your artwork, and the storyline is amazing!
Also, a big thanks. You’re one of the only comics I read online the actually updates when you say you are.
    Thanks!
    Keep up the awesome work!

    Khashin

  11. Diana says:

    Oh shit. That’s a pistol. A fancy, officer-type pistol.
    And that’s General Howe…
    oh, Nathan, run, run, run!

  12. Caera says:

Poor Nathan. lol Ohh goody, I can enter again. lol

  13. Julie says:

Wow, that pistol… Lora, you constantly amaze me with your detail work! And as to the General himself… oh crap!

Congrats on all of the nominations at DrunkDuck! I hope, for Bea’s sake, you win ‘em all! She was awfully distraught last year, although Alan seemed to take it all in stride (with a little coaxing *L*). Seriously, I hope you win them all because you deserve them, girl! Thanks again for all of the hard work, toil, tears, whatever else you pour into the Dreamer!

  14. Caera says:

Hehehe, Nathan’s expression just made me think of “Oh noes! A cliff!!!” lol
