Yay title page! And ALAN, DON’T DIE!!! lol

  2. Rae says:

I love the quote! Very moving and appropriate for the situation the characters find them self in (hence why you chose it ^_^). The preview is awful though! Just had to make sure the blood stains were visible didn’t you :) I look forward for the next update as always!

  3. Brent says:

Ohhhh……that is like the perfect quote given everything happening in the comic right now. That plus the look of Alan gives me all kinds of bad feelings…..

    INCENTIVE CAPTION!!!

Alan: *groan* Does anyone know the location of the nearest cloth-eaters anonymous meeting?

  4. deb says:

Oh god. Too many feelings! This is bad. This is really bad. :(
Either Ben’s getting the Talk or something terrible’s going to happen to Alan. Or worst. Bea couldn’t catch both rabbits after all. Argh.

  5. Tara says:

Lovely title page there. Can’t wait for page one. :)

Poor Alan, you look terrible in the update. :/

  6. Kristee says:

Awesome cover and title page! But the VI!…..Dread…dread…SO concerned!

  7. Hannah says:

The quote, while lovely because it’s absolutely perfect for everyone’s situation, is simultaneously filling me with dreaded feelings of impending doom. The worries impending doom and despair are only further worsened by the VI.

However, I must congratulate you Lora, because rarely does a story and its characters capture me so fully as this one has. So even though I’m terrified for everyone, it’s a good kind of terrified, because it means the story has done its job and I like them all :)

  8. Brent says:

@Hannah: Tell me about it. The only other sagas I’ve ever read that have captured me this much are The Dark Tower (Stephen King) and Harry Potter (duh).

  9. Emily says:

I missed the casting post last time, but I think I have someone who would be a good Hammy: Richard Madden. He’s young enough, and he’s a ginger!

  10. Brent says:

@Emily: As it stands, the final sheet looks like this….

    Emmy Rossum or Nina Dobrev……Bea
    Joe Anderson…….Alan
    Michael B Jordan…….Ben
    Matthew Gray Gubler……Nate
    Viggo Mortenson……Knowlton
    Anton Yelchin………Freddy
    Britt Robertson……..Liz
    Kyle Chandler…….Mr Whalley
    Tom Felton……..Hammy
Dan Byrd (Cougar Town, Easy A) ………..John
    Keke Palmer………Yvette
    Liam Neeson……..George Washington
    Jeremy Irons………….General William Howe

…..although to be honest, I am wondering if we should switch Tom and Dan’s roles.

  11. Half Moon says:

Love the quote, but why does Alan still have to be sick??? WHY????

@Brent: PLEASE NO!!!!!!!!!!! I admit I still reservastions about Tom as Hammy, but I’d have more problems with Dan as him…(I still see him as that sweety from A Cinderella Story)

  12. David Stock says:

This is my first posting on this site, so I’d like to start out by helping Brent in making a final decision on who should play Bea in the movie. Emmy Rossum would have been perfect for it around the time she was in The Day After Tomorrow or Phantom Of The Opera, but now I’m not so sure she would be convincing as a high-schooler. However, there is the possibility that the movie people may change Bea’s character into a twenty-something so as to put her in situations that might not be all that appropriate for a teenager. If that were the case Emmy Rossum would be a good choice for the role, but for the character as depicted now the only credible choice would be Nina Dobrev. Anyway, that’s just my opinion on the subject.

  13. Brent says:

    @David:

First, welcome to the party. Pay no attention to the rabid midget in the corner, he’s actually pretty harmless.

Second, I only have Emmy there because she was the physical basis for Bea, according to Mistress Lora. Having Nina play her was (probably) my idea, so I’d say it’s about a 70/30 split between Nina and Emmy for the final call.

  14. Amber says:

@Brent- Liam Neeson as George Washington!!!!!! Oh yeah!!
Umm, and maybe Tom Cruise as Alexander Hamilton, Kate Winslett as Bea, and Russel Crowe as Thomas Knowlton???

  15. Brent says:

@Amber: o_O Ummm….I….can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or serious. Although…..what do people think of RC as Uncle Hercules?

  16. Lora says:

Uncle Hercules is a cross between Gordon Ramsay and Brendan Gleeson.

I know Emmy’s too old to play Bea now. A lot of the actors I use reference for are too old now… I’ve used young Jude Law for Alan, young Jamie Bamber for Nathan, and Disney-era Shia Lebeouf for Freddy, ha ha!

But I still have a nice collection of photos to draw from when folks were age appropriate. I haven’t actually found an actress I can see playing Bea yet… Maybe one day I’ll watch a movie and say, “That’s her!”

  17. Caera says:

@Lora, how the heck did I call Gleeson without knowing that before now?

  18. Brent says:

@Lora: I’m sorry, can you say that again? I read “Brendan Gleeson as Herc” and died of a fangasmsplosion.

  19. Half Moon says:

    Mad-eye…? As Herc??? ;3 YAY!
BTW, what about Marg Helgenberger as Bea’s mom?

  20. David says:

I personally am backing Nina Dobrev to play Bea, but whoever was chosen for the role would have to be convincing in two different settings that are two hundred-plus years apart. Just looking good in a period costume wouldn’t be enough because you also have to consider different speech patterns, mannerisms, body language, etc. That sort of miscasting has happened enough already and we wouldn’t want it to be repeated here. Any actress playing Bea’s character would have to be able to adapt to the differences mentioned above and be believable portraying a high school-age teenager. Hopefully this should help to narrow the list of possible candidates a bit.

  21. catclark#1 says:

@Amber~ oh if only Tom Cruise were younger! i can c it. hottness…. lol ;D

  22. trevor says:

Missed you at Wizard World this past weekend. Had my best show ever! Did better on Saturday alone than I’ve done on my last two shows combined!

Might be worth checking out for The Dreamer next year.

  23. Stacy says:

Just a thought – What about Lily Collins as Bea?

  24. Brent says:

@Stacy: Oooooo!!! I loved her in Blind Side! I don’t quite see her as Bea, though.
