  1. Caera says:

Caption is hilarious, vote preview isn’t working, and the page made me go yeep again. YAAAHHHH NATHAN RUN!!!!!!!!!! Why do I even. *inhales* Caera, you know what must happen. *huggles plushy and cries*

  2. THE PLOT CHICKENS!!

*bites nails and awaits next update*

  3. Rae says:

Hurry Bea you must save Nathan!

  4. Amber says:

IF YOU TOUCH NATHAN…. You better be prepared for the consequences!
And if you do catch Nathan, do not hurt him! There will be many fangirls who will be very angry!

    On the other hand….
    NATHAN! RUN!

Sorry I am also so spastic lately with this blog.. but I am wearing my nails down in fear for Nathan!!The suspense is killing me!

  5. Brent says:

Oh noes! Hurry, Liz! Sic the gremlins on her! They’ll stop those chickens and keep things from moving forward!

As for you, Mr. Rogers….I will not be visiting your neighborhood if you keep going up those stairs, good sir. Consider yourself warned.

    INCENTIVE CAPTION!!

Nurse: “Oh, silly me! That’s not where that thermometer goes!”
    Bea: “…” 0_0

  6. Faith says:

“I just thought he was my friend… I didn’t know he was a hero.”

    New favorite line.

  7. SarahNara says:

Poor Nathan! And I hope Bea is better at faking a fever than I am!

  8. Susan says:

Oh Lora if you must kill off our beloved Nathan (silly “historical accuracy”) then at least let Bea be able to tell him that he’ll be remembered as a hero. After being caught and named as a dishonest man I’d like to see him go out with something happy to hold on to.

In return I can send you my Nathan-inspired poem from my creative writing class (I’m trying everything I’ve got)!!!!

  9. Derek Beck says:

Very cool, if I am in town we will totally have to get together!

  10. Angel says:

NATHAN! Don’t die like history’s been telling us for the past 200 or so years!

And if only I didn’t have to live in this mosquito-infested, typhoon-frequented country, I might have had a chance to go to even one convention with you in it. But of course, if I didn’t live here and get into a chain of events called life leading to my obsession with The Dreamer, then I might not have cared at all. Oh well. xD

  11. Jen says:

So Bea’s told Liz quite a bit about her dreams after all? For some reason I assumed, beyond the “OMG this hot guy in a tricorn hat kissed me till I fainted” first dream, I didn’t think she had shared many of the specific details with anybody except Yvette. Maybe I’m forgetting something.

And despite her best efforts to change history, I really doubt 18th century Bea is going to get to Nathan in time.

    • Lora says:

No, every time she has tried to talk to Liz about the dreams, Liz shuts her up. Bea isn’t in the mood to stop and explain things to Liz at the moment. She has more important things to worry about. Liz is a bright girl. I’ll bet she puts it together.

    • Julie says:

I don’t see how she could get to him in time either. I just expect she’ll make a mess out of things and upset a few folks. :( Poor Bea! She only wants to help make the fangirls happy!

  12. Just found this on Wikipedia:

“An account of Nathan Hale’s capture was written by Consider Tiffany, a Connecticut shopkeeper and Loyalist, and obtained by the Library of Congress. In Tiffany’s account, Major Robert Rogers of the Queen’s Rangers saw Hale in a tavern and recognized him despite his disguise. After luring Hale into betraying himself by pretending to be a patriot himself, Rogers and his Rangers apprehended Hale near Flushing Bay, in Queens, New York.[6]“

    • And this bit too:

British General William Howe had established his headquarters in the Beekman House in a rural part of Manhattan, on a rise between 50th and 51st Streets between First and Second Avenues[7] Hale reportedly was questioned by Howe, and physical evidence was found on him. Rogers provided information about the case. According to tradition, Hale spent the night in a greenhouse at the mansion. He requested a Bible; his request was denied. Sometime later, he requested a clergyman. Again, the request was denied.

      *sniff sniff*

      • Lora says:

Be careful with that Consider Tiffany quote. I have a guest blog from a historian coming up for you guys and she’s going to tell you why.

For now: reliability of source matters!! Not all accounts are made equal. This is why Internet research is dangerous if you start and stop there. It is great to get overviews, read different theories, and have things explained. But you have to get past the Internet to find real answers in your research.

      • Susan says:

The SAR has some really good info on Nathan, I got a great deal of info for a paper from their site.

          • David says:

“Consider Tiffany”? Gotta <3 those 18th century names!

          • Lora says:

Poor guy. I can never say his name without laughing inside.

          • Brent says:

            That’s a guy? *snickers endlessly*

          • Caera says:

Remind me to tell you all the story about Tinker Kelly and how I had to explain to all my coworkers the masculine origins of the name Tinker…

          • Brent says:

            @Caera: We’ll be waiting…..next post

          • Caera says:

One of my coworkers had business with a guy named Tinker Kelly. No one believed he was a guy and told her she had to check on linkedin. She told them she had and they still didn’t believe her, or thought his parents must have really hated him.

I had to explain to them before Tinker Bell, the name Tinker was both a surname and a boys name, of English origins. Tinkers were tinsmiths of sorts. I got all in depth on how Tinker Bell got her name and gave them all sorts of background and online information about the name, etc. And then I said Mr. Kelly’s name was probably a family name, since it’s uncommon now, and when we found out it was his middle name, I said “Well he obviously chose to go with it so no need to worry!” :)

My coworkers say I read too much, knowing all that info. lol

  13. Half Moon says:

I’m having a heart attack over here! I can’t wait til the next update……..

  14. Julie says:

How many more pages of “GARGH!! AHHHH!! *whimper*” do we have left??? :( This is killing me!!

But it’s all very good, Lora. :)

  15. Susan says:

I wish I could post pictures! I just Nathanified my mother’s classroom!
    (she’s an American history teacher)

  16. Joanna says:

So I was like 12 when I read a book about Nathan Hale and fell in love with him and cried when he died. Darn it Lora, now I’m going through the same thing, only you’ve made me twice the fan girl since then. :’(

  17. Stannis Baratheon says:

If Bea changes history, will Reapers show up and cracks in the universe appear?

  18. Ransom says:

Alright Bea, all you need to do is go to sleep now!

    Can’t be too difficult right?

  19. trevor says:

It’s time for Bea to go Marty McFly on history’s butt!
