New Page #39!

Alan Warren is feverish and delirious

Have you considered, Alan, that you are, too?

Regular updates resume today! Thanks for bearing the short break. Today, I’m in Chicago!

So if you’re in the area, come out and see me at C2E2 in Chicago, April 13-15.  Artists Alley at Booth #G14 with Alan Evans!

As always, VOTE to preview the next page!

Vote for The Dreamer history comic!

Anime Boston was a fantastic show. Every show I go to I meet more and more Dreamers, and am really grateful to have had the invitation to go to the show, and do my first New England convention. I’ll do an official post-con write up after I’m back from C2E2. For now, I’ll leave you with a pic of some faces whose names you might recognize…

Members of the Dreamer Meet Up.

We had a few togas show up!

Meet: Brent, Half Moon, Jen, Moi!, Caera, and Cody.

I’ll give you a sneak peek at the full report: I got to go up inside the Old South Meeting House bell tower for a private (albeit dusty and a little bit scary) tour!

Oh man! I…I do not know what to say to this page. It is full of awesomesauce! LOL!
The bit about the teeth got me…..

Oh, and this has nothing to do with the American Revolution, but I have a confession I must make.

I have become a Lord of the Rings fan!!! :D

  2. Brent says:

Alright, I’m famous! Kind of! A little bit…..okay, not really.

Lora, I’m just saying now…again….it was awesome meeting you and everybody at the con! Our whole meet-up panel was cool, and i’m honestly still giggling over how you didn’t quite say yes for a certain question. Really, it was great meeting you in person finally, and is it weird to say that you were about as tall as i thought you’d be while still being smaller than i expected? (yeah, that confused me too. Sigh…)

    Oh, right, the comic.

Ooo, two Dr. Warren’s for the price of one. Nice…

Also — YAY, HE LIVES!!! Which technically I knew anyway, but still — yay! And I’m not sure who I want to comfort-hug the most in that last panel, ’cause it looks like they all need it.

The IC will be up later, I promise.

    • Beth W. says:

How about one big, collective group squeeze? :)

Awww, that’s a good picture of y’all! Look at those lovely people… fellow Dreamers. *happy sigh*

When I read the Facebook description of this update, I thought for sure Alan was going to start dreaming of future Bea, and I was getting equally frightened and excited. I’m kind of relieved it was a dream of Joe. Because I’m not sure my mind could handle all that complicated stuff at this point in the drama. :P

  3. hazel says:

HE LIVES! Yay! *pointedly ignoring that caption*

That’s all, just heralding the good news!

  4. HE’S ALIVE HE’S ALIVE for the 100th Year of the sinking of Titanic and just in time for the flying scene with Bea

    • David says:

I can visualize that! A while back somebody brought up the possibility of continuing Bea and Alan’s story beyond the Revolution era. I think the idea was that they would keep meeting and separating through various incarnations over time until finally being allowed to be together in the present, and I was wondering if anybody else had thought of the Titanic disaster as being one of the possible scenarios. You have to admit it has all the right ingredients for it. 100 years. Wow.

      • David says:

In my “Titanic” scenario Bea’s and Alan’s “positions” would be the opposite of what they are now. Alan would belong to a wealthy, prominent Boston family and Bea would be a third class passenger who’s also an Irish immigrant. They meet, hit it off, ship hits iceberg, etc. The best part about this scenario is that Bea would have a hot Irish accent and the fangirls could drool over Alan in one those old-fashioned tuxedos, which personally always make me think of penguins!

    • Bea: I’m flying.
      Alan: lol

      • Alnabegha says:

I can not wait to read much more from you. This is actually a wonderful am i prengant quiz when can you get prengant how prengant am i informations.

    • Bea: Alan, I’m flying.

  5. Lora says:

Top Web Comics isn’t loading. So sorry, guys! I’ll update it when I can log in.

  6. KitakLaw says:

    Poor Alan!

But I gotta hand it to you, Lora: that “fade/morph” effect you had going in the first two panels was full of win and really showed us what Alan was seeing versus the reality. What he said in response to that, though, I found rather hard to stomach. Granted, I KNEW about that point in history and what happened to Joseph, but…I’m just not all that comfortable discussing it, I guess – it still makes me cringe for some reason.

  7. KimmQuinn says:

    Chilling.

  8. Hannah says:

Great update! I love John more and more with every update. I also think you do a really great job showing us how close Alan is to all of his cousins. The pages give this overwhelming feel of family and connectedness :)

Hope all the cons went well!

  9. Alyssa says:

A dream within a dream. Hopefully Bea has her totem.

[insert other Princess Bride/Inception references of your choice]

    Fantastic page!

  10. Jen says:

Okay, I don’t get the teeth thing.

  11. Poor Alan! And John and Bea too…

Thanks for posting the picture! It was great to meet you last weekend. Hope the rest of the trip is going just as well!

  12. Tamesin says:

John definitely needs a hug, here. I’ve always found it sadly ironic that he spent years digging up bodies with his fellow Spunkers – probably having what amounted to a “good time” in the process – but then had to do the same with his beloved brother’s body, under the worst circumstances. That always sets my stomach in knots.

  13. Julie says:

Okay Lora. If this was the page you were saying would have all three Warrens, I think my computer survived purely because Alan is not looking his best right now. It flickered when the first two panels loaded (or maybe that was just me blinking a lot at the awesomeness), but it didn’t crash because it wasn’t a dreamboat image of Alan in panel 3. :P

  14. Half Moon says:

Aw man I’m slacking! I totally didn’t look for this update until just now!!!!! (even if I’ve already seen it ;P) lol and also I’ve already saved the pix…so look for it floating around facebook soon XD

  15. Rachel says:

    Yayyyyyyyy I missed The Dreamer!
P.S. Preview on voting isn’t working / not updated – and yes, I cleared my cache :(

  16. Lora says:

All right! 24 hours later TWC finally let me log in. Voting Incentive is fixed!!

  17. Brent says:

    ….then at long last…

    INCENTIVE CAPTION!!!

“Oh my god — they killed Joey!”
    “You bastards!”

    ——

“You know, the next time you guys want to point out the real sinking time of something, don’t!

  18. Caera says:

Sorry I’m running late on commenting on this. After a heavenly weekend with you guys I got stuck in air-plain purgatory and the rest of the week has been totally mad…but I made it.

I was so happy to meet y’all and I’m glad you got kicks out of the toga. And I’m jealous you got a special Meeting House tour, but I can’t complain. Boston was breathtaking. I can’t believe it was just this time last week I was in the Meeting House!

Such a sad page. Poooor Alan.

  19. Catherine says:

Allan…… Is gonna die…. ;( it can’t happen, can it it? just a sickness right.. Hopefully

  20. KitakLaw says:

Super late comment – BUT! That’s…got to be the most sobering VI image I’ve seen for a bit. I honestly just sat there, frozen, and stared at it for a while.
