The Dreamer on the iPad

I know the iPad has received all sorts of mixed reviews (before it has even been released, no less) but one thing I’ve heard pretty unanimously: This is going to be great for comics.

The iPod touch/ iPhone screens are too small to really do comics well. There is a lot of zooming and moving around to view a full page, or you’re reading panel by panel which I think interrupts the intended flow of the story. With the iPad, viewing full comic pages will be no problem, and you should be able to flip through them with ease.

That’s why I’m excited to tell you that The Dreamer will be released for the iPad with a slew of other great IDW titles, like everyone’s favorite web series, The Dreamland Chronicles! Also Danger Girl, Transformers, Love & Capes and a lot more. I’m really excited about this, and wanted to share it all with you!

Just like the IDW App for the iPhone, you’ll have to download the IDW Comics app, and can pick The Dreamer from a list of titles there. The Dreamer for the iPhone here! The Dreamer for the iPad coming soon!

New Pages- 11 & 12!

New Pages 11 & 12! Bea tries to find someone to talk to, but things don’t go the way she expected.

This week’s update is extra fun because in January we had a contest on DeviantART to design a dress for Liz to wear on her date with John! The winner was Erin (aka JadeRaven) for this super cute entry, and her prize was getting to see Liz wear her design in the comic.

Also, if you missed it, I did an hour long interview with Tom Racine of Tall Tale Radio. It was a total history nerd-fest and you Dreamers seem to have enjoyed listening to it so far. I give it my thumbs up.

VOTE this week to preview the next page! What does Bea have to say to Liz about all of this?

Tall Tale Radio Podcast

Last week Tom Racine of Tall Tale Radio called me up to interview me. He is a big history buff, and we sort of geeked out a little. Okay, a lot. But it made for fresh conversation, and I think because of that, it’s a deeper look into The Dreamer than most of the interviews I’ve done. So if you’re a history geek, too–and I know that you are!–give it a listen.

It’s only an hour, which I think is the perfect length of time for a podcast–long enough to really get into a few topics, but not so long that it’s a major commitment. We talked about a range of things, from Nathan Hale’s last moments, to writing honestly about war, to understanding historical figures as real, flawed people. It was a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy it!

New Pages- 9 & 10!

New Pages 9 & 10 this week!

Julie is totally rocking out the colors. I’m so glad I have her on the team. I can tell you that after spending an entire week ill on the couch, we would’ve missed an update if not for her. Huzzah!

Not much news again this week. Monday was George Washington’s birthday. He got a pretty good birthday present, did you see? I am SO going there when that is finished an open to the public. I just need to establish myself as a “scholar” by then, so I can stay on the grounds at the guesthouse.

And don’t forget to VOTE this week to preview next week’s page!
