man’s door, and particularly in the hour of election.” (Hmm. One such hour is upon us.)
And everyone’s favorite American, Ben Franklin, mused, “In this world nothing is certain but death and taxes.”
Once again Mr. Franklin is proven right. It’s April 15th. (Un)happy Tax day everybody…!
Or happy tax day if you’ve been overtaxed… gotta love the refunds.
Ha ha, I guess. I haven’t had a real job in 2 years, so it’s always owe, owe, owe…
yeah, no refund for me this year either :( but i should qualify for that ‘stimulus’ check hahaah, offsets my taxes owed… a tiny bit .
I have mixed feelings on taxes. It’s tough to remember that the refund was my money to begin with! The government was just “keeping it safe.” :P
Ha! The refund was yours, and look into the stimulus check before you hurry up and spend it. It’s coming from next year’s refund. And… if you spend it on non-American made products, well that defeats the purpose…!

Oh yes. Taxes. I hate them. I got a tax refund this year, but I had to pay last year. The messed up thing is that I worked for the SAME jobs both years. Go figure.
HAH yeah taxes…nothing lower in the food chain than the tax man. After WW 3… all that will be left are cockroaches and the IRS. We had a huge refund last year of about 4 grand. cut down things this year to take less out so we would have it during the year…hrmph..went straight into my gas tank..this year…not as big of a return but still decent…
Have to join in the tax hating. Especially when it’s complicated. I have no idea what I’ll do next year when I have to report my Japanese earnings and thier taxes… oi. Anyone a tax guru?
I got a refund this year (though, I said good bye to that rather quickly upon finally getting a Mac), but I have a feeling next year won’t be as nice. Working non-profit means my checks are non-profit, as well, but the government seemed to notice and gave some back. This year, however, I’ve done toooons more freelancing and am already approaching the “report or not to report earnings” line. Crud.
At least I can keep my fingers crossed that the usual return amount will cover what I would owe for my side jobs.
Hey, take the A and the E in Taxes and switch them around and you get Texas, which is a much happier thought! Let’s think about Texas for a while. lol :D
