Thanksgiving Short Story for Sale!

So Alan reminded us on Friday that he has known Bea since she was only 14.  Ever wonder how they met?  You can now find out in the new Dreamer Short Story:  A Most Agreeable Thanksgiving.

That’s right, the Thankgiving Short Story is now for sale!  You can purchase it, for only $5, by clicking on the “Buy Now” button on the sidebar.  There are two buttons–one for this story, and one for the Nathan Hale short story–so make sure you click on the button for the story you want.

When you complete the transaction, PayPal will have an option that says “Return to Merchant.”  That will take you to a “Thank You” page.  On that page is a link that will take you to the downloadable PDF. The short story will not be emailed to you at a later date.  You can read it immediately, but you must look for the download link on the thank you page.

As a bonus for buying the story, you’ll also be able to download the Knowlton’s Rangers exclusive wallpaper.  The links for that are also on the Thank You page.

Enjoy, everyone!  and let me know how you like it!

I have left my thank you page up so I don’t lose the link, but I can’t seem to find it. Can anyone describe where it is on the page? I’m in Firefox, if that makes a difference.

  2. Hannah17 says:

Maybe I’m just incompetent with computers but I can’t find the link either.

  3. Hannah17 says:

I found the link!!!!! If you click on the “return to merchant” button it should bring you to the page with the downloads. I’m so excited! I get to read about how Alan and Bea met!

  4. Dani says:

    Lora,

A quick question: if we donates $50 can we still get a copy of your sketchbook?

    Thanks! =)

  5. Lora says:

Hey, Dani! Back during the donation drive, prints were $50 and sketchbooks were $25. I have prints up on Etsy for sale now, and was thinking of posting some of my sketchbooks…

Shoot me an email if you want one!

And Hannah, thanks for tip. I added that to my blog so hopefully everyone can find it easier!

I loved (this is not the proper usage, but I am not proper) “A Most Agreeable Thanksgiving. Besides one or two instances that seemed a little too on the nose in the story, I enjoyed Bea’s anxiety (in a good way) you could tell that she was over her head, but love her for doing it anyways and showing off that bravery we’ve seen in the comic. Smooth player AW came off looking as smooth as ever, just coming short of realizing just how charmed he’s rolling and letting Bea in on it. I liked Dr. J a lot too, he’s very likeable. He doesn’t make it on the man-crush list though. Its a very exclusive list, you understand?

    XD

I just found your comic, and, wow! I haven’t found a comic this good in a long time! I thought I’d already run across all of the good ones. I love the art, and the use of famous art and history really enrich the story. This is definitely going on the reading list – thanks!

  8. Natalie says:

Brilliant, some of the best five dollars I’ve spent. You captured Alan so well, and it was good to see 18th Bea and modern Bea are still the same person after all. I hope our Bea has a chance to remember these lovely memories, and more.

  9. Jim Ryan says:

A little off-topic, maybe, but I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Evacuation Day. Where better than here to celebrate, anyway?

    http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/11/25/celebrating-225-years-since-the-british-left-town/?hp

  10. Lora says:

Aww, Jim, thanks for sharing! George Washington actually gave a special welcome that day to one of my favorite Revolutionary Heroes, by giving him the honor of having breakfast in his home. His descendants actually (supposedly) still have the chair he sat on and the plate he ate off of. At least… the biography from the 1930s that I read said they still had it in the 30s… lol!

I think that March 17th is also Evacuation Day… but for Boston. It commemorated the end of the siege that had started on April 19th, 1775 when General Howe finally left town and his army with him.

  11. Tesana says:

Wahoo! I did it right this time (finally!). Nubism is conquerable.

Thanks bunches for all of your hard work Lora!

  12. LorriAnne says:

*Sigh* I want to fall in love with an apple farmer!! I just finished the short story and am am now, more than ever, incredibley jealous of Bea!! =D It was a great read Lora. Keep it up! <3

  13. Jay says:

For those who can’t get enough of the American Revolution, I came across another webcomic at: http://loyaltyliberty.com/

Its in a completely different style to the Dreamer, with more about historical persons etc vs romantic tension. Anyway, I found it a good way to spend my time while waiting for the Dreamer! :-)

  14. Julie says:

Loved the story, Lora! I want to climb trees with Alan, and I can make him cookies that don’t taste terrible (although that was probably part of Bea’s charm *L*). I really enjoy seeing the Revolutionary era Bea and how she’s so much like the modern day one we all know. You write so very well :)

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!

  15. Jenwabikabik says:

As a native american, I accept the Thanks. It doesn’t make up for cannibalizing my people and then driving them into shitty meth-y reserves though. Maybe next year?

On the topic of the short story… Someone tell me what happens! I MUST know.

  16. Beatrice says:

    Aww.

It made me aww. A lot. And want to hug the two of them.

Joseph is such a lovable character, too, with all his seriousness and non-believing eyes. You’d better eat that hat, boy. :P

Happy Thanksgiving Lora, and thank you for writing such a lovely story!

    <3

  17. Rebecca says:

I just got a credit card.
